The federal government isn’t doing enough to make low-cost buses like the one that crashed Saturday safe, Sen. Charles Schumer said Monday.
He said he would ask the National Transportation Safety Board – the agency that investigates plane crashes – to examine the entire low-cost bus business.
“They are in charge of safety across the board when it comes to transportation, and that’s why we need them involved – not just in investigating this crash, which they do as a matter of course, but also looking at the whole industry,” Schumer said.
