Do you care how much salt State Assemblyman Felix Ortiz has in his food? Well, he cares about how much you have in yours.

The Brooklyn Democrat has introduced a bill that would completely ban the use of salt in every restaurant kitchen in New York State.

Violations would result in a $1,000 fine, according to The Daily News.

In January, city health officials released draft guidelines recommending a maximum amount of salt that should be in a wide variety of manufactured and packaged foods.

Seventeen national health organizations and 25 other city or state health agencies joined with New York City in the voluntary effort, called the National Salt Reduction Initiative.

But Ortiz’s bill takes the fight on salt a little further.

He says the bill is designed to save lives, just like laws that ban the use of trans fats and require chain restaurant to post calorie information on their menus.

The bill however does give customers the option of adding salt to their meal after it has been prepared for them, giving the consumer more control over their sodium intake, Ortiz says.

WTF ORTIZ. Mind your own business and stop telling me how to live. Worry about your own salt intake and leave me and those who want salt alone. I will do everything in my power to see you removed from office

I understand your intentions, but why don’t you just shut down all the restaurants that serve properly seasoned food because that’s what will happen if your ridiculous bill passes

    Sugar tax
    Salt tax
New taxes to follow will be
    Urine tax
    Walking tax
    Healthy eating tax
    Entering a state building tax
    Entering our own home tax
