State Assemblywoman Annie Rabbitt plans to launch her re-election campaign during a fundraiser Thursday.

“I feel like I make a difference. I think I really understand – being a business owner, a wife and mother – what the demands are of the average New Yorker,” she said.

Rabbitt, R-C-Greenwood Lake, represents District 97, which includes the towns of Tuxedo, Warwick, Monroe, Goshen, Hamptonburgh, Wallkill and Mount Hope, as well as parts of the Town of Ramapo in Rockland County. She was first elected to the Assembly in 2004.

She had planned to announce her re-election bid at a fundraiser on Nov. 17, but she ultimately couldn’t make it, as she was called back to Albany to discuss the budget deficit.

Jonathan Jacobson, chairman of the Orange County Democratic Committee, said he’s heard a number of elected officials express interest in the seat.
