Westchester County Executive Andrew Spano is out in an upset by Republican challenger Rob Astorino.
Astorino’s victory came despite Democrats’ 2-1 margin over Republicans among Westchester’s 538,822 registered voters.
Astorino’s win ended a 12-year reign for Spano and was part of a wave of anti-incumbent sentiment regionally, including a loss for Democratic New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine.
