The 29th Congressional District will be a key battleground in the 2010 elections, according to both Republican and Democratic officials.
Incumbent U.S. Rep. Eric Massa, D-Corning, will hold a news conference at 10 a.m. Saturday in Centerway Square in Corning to announce his plans.
While Massa won’t officially indicate until Saturday if he plans to run again, said spokesman Jared Smith, he has been sending fundraising letters to supporters for months.
The MassaforCongress.com Web site provides a link for donors to contribute to his 2010 campaign and re-directs supporters to a Democratic fundraising Web site. The “Massa for Congress 2010″ page on that site had 999 supporters and donations of $121,714 as of Wednesday evening.
