Nearly three months after the State Senate’s power struggle, a poll finds the majority of New Yorkers think the state government is broken, and they want change.
The latest Quinnipiac University poll finds 77 percent of voters think Albany is dysfunctional.
More than half of the people surveyed say the government is the worst or among the worst in the nation with only two percent saying it’s the best.
And 49 percent of voters say almost everyone in the senate, including their own state senator, deserves to be thrown out.
The poll surveyed more than 1,600 registered voters in the state.
Meanwhile, State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo shared his thoughts Tuesday on a recent Quinnipiac poll that found he could easily beat Governor David Paterson in a potential primary matchup for governor.
“To the extent that New Yorkers are supportive of what we’re trying do, frankly that’s flattering to my office,’ Cuomo said. “We work really hard, we’re trying to solve problems that New Yorkers face.”
The Quinnipiac Poll shows 61 percent of voters polled favor Cuomo.
The Attorney General hasn’t said whether he will run.
