Gov. Paterson said on Tuesday he hasn’t made up his mind whom to back for mayor this fall – a startling turnaround from his earlier plan to support a Democrat.
“No, I haven’t announced the person that I think should be mayor, and I guess I’ll do that before an election,” Paterson said as he left an event with Mayor Bloomberg, the Republican candidate.
Asked if he had decided whom to back, Paterson replied, “No.”
It was the second time in a month he declined to back Bloomberg’s likely Democratic rival, city Controller William Thompson.
