The Department of Health today confirmed three more deaths linked to H1N1/swine flu, bringing the total number of people who died from the illness to 12.
According to the DOH, one of the deceased was aged 30-39, one was between 50 and 59, and one was over 59. No other details about the deaths have been reported.
Most of the serious cases and deaths have been in people with established risk factors for flu complications.
At the peak of the flu outbreak, there were more than 40 city schools closed.
There are currently 820 confirmed cases of H1N1 in New York City.
