A special election is being held today for the upstate congressional seat vacated by Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.
Democrat Scott Murphy is going up against Republican Jim Tedisco in the 20th Congressional District.
Tedisco is the State Assembly’s minority leader and has been a state legislator for 27 years.
Murphy is a businessman who has the support of Gillibrand and President Barack Obama.
