It’s too close to call. With 99 percent of precincts reporting, the Associated Press is reporting Democrat Scott Murphy holds a razor thin 81 vote margin over Republican Assemblyman Jim Tedisco in the race for the 20th Congressional District.
Neither candidate is claiming victory or defeat at this point and absentee ballots have yet to be counted. That’ll decide it, if not, the election results could be challenged by either candidate in court.
The seat opened open up after Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand was appointed to the United States senate.
