Posted by The city has agreed not to move any more prisoners into the Brooklyn Detention Center while a lawsuit against the jail’s planned renovation is pending in Kings County Supreme Court.
Legal representatives of a coalition of citizen groups and local politicians, currently known as “Stop BHOD” (Brooklyn House of Detention, as the jail is also known), brokered an agreement with the city’s counsel that will halt expansion of the jail or transfer of new prisoners while their lawsuit is pending.
