Posted by Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos, responding to last week’s indictment of Assemblyman Anthony Seminario, yesterday said he’d introduce a bill to make public how much lawmakers earn from nongovernment jobs.
Current law forces lawmakers to disclose the approximate amount to the Legislative Ethics Commission, but lets those amounts be kept secret.
Seminario, a Queens Democrat, is charged with illegally taking more than $500,000 in “consultant” fees to lobby legislators and Gov. Paterson on behalf of an unnamed hospital and other interests.
