Former state senator Bruno takes job at company with state contracts
July 23, 2008
Former state Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno has been hired as chief executive of CMA Consulting Services, which provides computer programming and information technology to the state and other clients.
CMA, based in suburban Albany, is headed by Kay McCabe Stafford, widow of longtime Republican Sen. Ronald Stafford. With the hiring of Bruno, she becomes company president and board chairwoman.
The 79-year-old Bruno, who retired from the Legislature last week, had been a senator since 1976 and headed the Senate’s Republican majority since 1995. He had appointed Stafford chairman of the Senate Finance Committee.
Bruno says he looks forward to expanding the national company, which has 410 employees and offices in New York City, Maryland, Texas and Arizona.
