A Former SI GOP Lawmaker Wants to Replace Fosella Seat

An ex-Staten Island GOP lawmaker is seeking to replace scandal-scarred Vito Fossella as his district’s next congressman.
Former state Assemblyman Bob Straniere began circulating petitions yesterday to get on the ballot for the seat, which covers the island and South Brooklyn. Straniere served the island’s South Shore from 1981 through 2004.
