More counts in City Council scam
June 25, 2008
The Feds smacked two indicted City Council staffers with additional charges on Tuesday, alleging they stole another $48,000 from bogus community groups that were set up to write them checks.
Asquith Reid, a former chief of staff to Brooklyn Democrat Kendall Stewart, and Stewart aide Joycinth (Sue) Anderson were hit with new mail fraud and money laundering charges that could put them in prison for 40 years.
In April, Reid and Anderson were accused of embezzling $145,000 in so-called discretionary funds allocated by the Council.
