Squadron Lands CWA Endorsement
June 19, 2008
In the 25th District, the Communications Workers of America - District 1 endorses Daniel Squadron for State Senate. Daniel Squadron is a strong progressive who will energetically and effectively move a worker-friendly policy agenda.
Squadron supports a pro-consumer, pro-worker regulatory agenda that will deliver better telecommunications services at lower prices, including better landline service quality, higher-speed internet, and lower cable prices. He is a strong progressive who supports paid family leave, tenants’ rights, fair taxation and campaign finance reform.
Squadron’s opponent - Senator Martin Connor - has been in office for decades. In the highly progressive 25th State Senate District, on many important issues the candidates profess similar, or even identical, views. Yet Squadron has the energy, fresh perspective, and detailed understanding of the issues to effectively move legislation.
Daniel Squadron is, in the best sense of the term, a progressive policy wonk. If elected to the State Senate, he will deliver real reform for New York’s working families. CWA will urge our members to vote for Daniel Squadron.
