Tom Suozzi touts “Biggest Loser” to Nassau residents
February 12, 2008
County Executive Thomas Suozzi called on Nassau residents yesterday to sign up for NBC’s “Biggest Loser” program: Lose weight, and maybe win a ticket to L.A.
Suozzi kicked off his plea at the county Aquatic Center in East Meadow with last year’s “Biggest Loser” winner, Bill Germanakos, a salesman from Lynbrook, and his brother Jim, a Freeport police office who lives in North Massapequa and was the at-home winner.
“I encourage all Americans to find a partner and sign up to participate … and I hope Nassau County residents, especially, will join this nationwide effort to eat healthier and exercise more,” Suozzi said.
The top five weight-loss teams will get a trip to Los Angeles for the show’s finale. Details are available on the show’s Web site: biggestloser.msn.com.
