Bloomberg Laying Groundwork For Presidential Bid

Associates of New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg say he is laying the groundwork to launch an independent presidential campaign, but he is in no hurry to decide whether to run.
Doug Schoen, who is part of Bloomberg’s inner circle, said the mayor may launch early-state petition drives to get his name on the ballot. A deadline for third parties in
Schoen said Bloomberg can watch the political landscape for another couple months and does not have to decide whether to run until May.
Bloomberg has said that the Democratic nomination battle could go all the way to the convention.
The ballot effort comes around the same time that Bloomberg quietly launched a sophisticated 50-state voter analysis
