Former NY assemblyman charged with DWI in Rockland County
January 31, 2008
Former state Assemblyman Ryan Karben of Rockland County has pleaded not guilty to a charge of driving while intoxicated.
Ramapo police said Thursday that Karben, 33, told officers that he hit a utility pole after swerving to avoid a deer. They said he was arrested at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday after refusing to take a blood-alcohol test.
Karben, who is now deputy village attorney in Spring Valley, could not be reached for comment on Thursday.
