Darrel Aubertine Wants Special Election Soon
January 25, 2008
Republican Will Barclay’s opponent, Democratic Assemblyman Darrel Aubertine looked for support from women voters. The gathering was held at Shuler’s Restaurant on the city’s northside. Aubertine says he would like to see the special election for the 48th district Senate seat held as soon as possible.
“The governor is occupied, or has been with a lot of issues, not the least of which is a $120-some billion budget, so, I’m certain in due course the Governor will announce the election and again I agree, sooner rather than later,” Aubertine said.
A special election must be held for the position because Senator James Wright is leaving office before the end of his term.
